At Annecy 2026, the Czech Republic arrives with a wide-ranging presence, coordinated by the Czech Film Center and the Czech Audiovisual Fund, encompassing works selected for the festival’s official competitions, networking activities, and the launch of Czech Pitch @ Mifa, a new initiative dedicated to the international promotion of Czech animated features and series.
Among the titles in competition are Born in the Jungle, a family adventure co-produced by Latvia, Poland and the Czech Republic, and The Last Whale Singer, a feature developed through a collaboration between Germany, the Czech Republic and Canada, both selected for the Annecy Presents programme.
In the Short Film Competition, Anna Mantzaris’ Please has been selected, while Andrea Szelesová’s Eeny, Meeny, Miny, Moe! – already awarded at the Berlinale and the Tribeca Film Festival – is featured in the Young Audiences section. Completing the selection are the music video Wildbait, the graduation film Gently, and the TV series Doggie and Pussycat.
On the industry side, Czech Pitch @ Mifa will showcase six projects – The Robot Called Otis, Timelessness, Lost Kids, Bouba & Kiki, Mould, and The Inhalatorium – highlighting a new generation of Czech creators and producers developing original content for the global market.
Rounding out the programme, the Czech Republic will also be represented by the stop-motion series project The Molepire, selected for the CEE Animation Mifa Pitches, alongside a range of initiatives dedicated to networking and international co-production opportunities.
