Original Force’s creative team behind Warrior Cats, together with series director Rodrigo Blaas, recently took the stage at a special event hosted by Tencent Video Animation. The animated series is based on the internationally beloved publishing phenomenon.

For the first time, the team unveiled key production milestones, including character designs, visual development, storyboards, animation tests, and a preview film (PV).

Original Force serves as the lead production studio and a key creative force behind the Warrior Cats animated series, contributing across the entire production lifecycle, from creative and visual development to international talent coordination, scalable CG pipeline development, and final delivery.

The presentation offered audiences a first look at how the world of Warrior Cats is being brought from page to screen, and how the series develops a distinctive visual identity and cinematic language.

Building a Production-Ready Visual System for Warrior Cats

As the first official animated adaptation of Warrior Cats, the series must balance authentic feline anatomy and behavior with the emotional expressiveness required for compelling storytelling.

Original Force has worked closely with Rodrigo Blaas and the international creative team to refine every element, from character silhouettes, fur, skeletal structure, and movement to camera language, environmental scale, and visual clarity during fast-paced action.

At the event, we showcased the project’s evolution from early storyboards and animation studies to near-final visuals, highlighting the unified creative framework developed to ensure quality and consistency across the series.

Expanding Creative Boundaries Through Global Collaboration

Warrior Cats brings together creative and production talent from China, the United States, and Europe. Original Force coordinates writers, directors, visual-development artists, storyboard teams, animators, and technical R&D specialists around a shared creative vision and production pipeline.

Through the project, Original Force is moving beyond traditional CG production services and taking a more active role in creative development—leading visual development, managing cross-border collaboration, building the production framework, and overseeing quality across the pipeline.

Adam Zhang, Executive Producer of Warrior Cats and Original Force Project Lead, says:

“Warrior Cats represents Original Force’s next step: leading global creative collaboration, building an international production framework, and ensuring consistent quality across a multi-year project involving hundreds of creators worldwide. It marks a shift for Chinese animation from ‘Made in China’ to ‘Created with China.’”

Building for Scalable Production

The Warrior Cats team is currently refining the series’ visual style, character treatments, animation, movement, environments, and preview film. This early R&D establishes the creative standards and technical systems needed to maintain consistency across thousands of shots, hundreds of creators, and years of international production.

Through Warrior Cats, Original Force is transforming a shared artistic vision into a scalable and repeatable global production framework.
