Studio 100 International and the Nordic countries’ leading animation studio Qvisten Animation have announced their first official feature film co-production, Nightling, an original animated fantasy adventure that marks the next chapter in the two studios’ expanding creative partnership. Studio 100 Film will handle the international sales and will introduce the project to buyers at the American Film Market.

Nightling is currently in production and scheduled for delivery in December 2027. The film is a significant milestone for both companies, marking Qvisten Animation’s most ambitious production to date and its first original animated feature produced in English, while further strengthening the long-standing relationship between the two European studios.

Their collaboration already extends beyond Nightling, encompassing two additional animated features in pre-production, several projects in active development, and Rally – From Paris to the Pyramids, which was part of Studio 100 Film’s international 2025 sales slate.

Nightling is directed by one of the most successful Nordic animation directors Rasmus A. Sivertsen, renowned for some of Norway’s biggest animated box-office hits, including the beloved Louis & Luca (Flåklypa) films, In the Forest of Huckybucky, Rally – From Paris to the Pyramids, Three Robbers and a Lion and Just Super, alongside celebrated Norwegian illustrator, author and creator of the iconic comic series Nemi, Lise Myhre. The film marks Lise Myhre’s feature directing and screenwriting debut, bringing her distinctive artistic voice to an original fantasy world created for international audiences.

Nightling is a magical animated fantasy adventure that reveals the untold story behind the Tooth Fairy. When an unconventional young fairy accidentally puts both the human and fairy worlds at risk, she must embark on an epic quest that teaches her the true power of embracing who she is. Set in a richly imagined realm populated by fairies, ghosts, dragons, witches and other fantastical creatures, Nightling offers a fresh and contemporary take on one of childhood’s most enduring myths. Through a story that blends fantasy, adventure, comedy and mystery, the film explores themes of identity, belonging, and self-acceptance while challenging traditional stereotypes and celebrating individuality. Aimed at children aged 8–12 and family audiences worldwide, the 80-minute feature is a story of courage, friendship and self-discovery set in a universe where magic and myth intertwine.

The film features an outstanding voice cast, bringing together an international ensemble of established and rising talent including Alisha Weir (Matilda: The Musical, Abigail, The Land of Sometimes) as the Tooth Fairy, Aaron MacGregor (Kensuke’s Kingdom, Puffin Rock and the New Friends) as Kaito, Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) as Scuti, Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter films, The Age of Innocence) as Mad Marti, Noah Hathaway (The NeverEnding Story, Battlestar Galactica) as the Sandman, Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones, Red One) as Dread, Zaris-Angel Hator (The Sea Beast, Bridgerton) as the Wish Fairy and Jeppe Beck Laursen (The Last Kingdom, Dead Snow) as the Bad Guys.
