The Kitchen will once again be attending the Annecy International Animation Film Festival this June, held in the picturesque lakeside town of Annecy, France. With a history dating back to 1960, the festival has become the global gathering place for animators, studios, filmmakers, and fans alike.
Often referred to as the “Cannes of Animation,” Annecy brings together creators from around the world to celebrate innovation and excellence in animated storytelling. The festival showcases hundreds of works across multiple categories, including feature films, short films, television series, student films, and commissioned productions. Its highest honour, the Cristal Award, is considered one of the animation industry’s most coveted achievements.
Running alongside the festival is MIFA, the International Animation Film Market, one of the industry’s leading business and networking forums. Studios, producers, distributors, and investors pitch projects, secure financing, and negotiate international distribution deals.
A creative localisation partner, The Kitchen helps programme content reach global audiences while preserving storytelling, humour, emotion, and cultural authenticity. With 25 years of experience, the company has built a strong reputation as a trusted partner to producers, distributors, networks, studios, and independents.
Holding Gold-Badge TPN (Trusted Partner Network) approval, The Kitchen reduces risk, protects creative intent, and accelerates delivery through sophisticated workflow systems.
Liz Clarke, Director of Global Sales, based in London, says:
“Our goal, as always, is to support our clients in reaching new audiences, in new languages and new territories. Our clients come to us for creative and cultural input when adapting content, and our global teams take pride in their deep understanding of programme content being localised to and from every language, for all age groups and ethnicities.”
The Kitchen has provided ongoing language services for major global animated IP including Masha and the Bear, Blippi, Barbie, Talking Tom, Sesame Street, Pocoyo, South Park, My Hero Academia, Smurfs, CoComelon, Hot Wheels, and Living with Dad, among many others.
“It’s exciting to see what’s new, what’s on the horizon, and to share The Kitchen’s knowledge of countries, languages, audiences, and more,” Clarke added. “I’m thrilled to be representing The Kitchen at Annecy and look forward to sharing all that we can bring to content creators and providers worldwide.”
