Catus Magus is currently wrapping production, with an upcoming release date on social media in May, 2026. The series has also been officially submitted to the Ottawa International Animation Festival for 2026.
The Premise Created in collaboration with Yaron Farkash, Studio Ursa presents the original short animated series, Catus Magus. The story follows a little black cat apprenticed to an old, gruff wizard. The apprentice faces magical chores and challenges assigned by the wizard, from exploring the mysteries of the tower to venturing into magical lands beyond. With a lot of heart and a little luck, the apprentice overcomes these obstacles, occasionally winning a rare smile from his master.
Blending cozy fantasy with lighthearted mischief, the show celebrates curiosity, perseverance, and the art of problem-solving. Each episode finds comedy and heart in small challenges and unexpected outcomes, delivering stories that are imaginative and emotionally rewarding.

Creator’s Statement (Yaron Farkash)
“Catus Magus is an outlet for my artistic sensibilities and a space where I can invite other talented artists and peers to join me in imagination and creation. This is my love letter to all the cartoons that I enjoy and find inspiring, attempting to bridge the gap between my experience as a professional artist and the kid in me. I really hope Catus Magus will inspire kids and those who are kids at heart to create something of their own.”
