Gothenburg-based creative studio Uncloudy & Co has officially revealed the first look at Dream Tango, an upcoming 8×24’ serialized sci-fi fantasy mystery series part of the lineup at Cartoon Forum 2026. The project is designed for older kids (9+), teens, and family co-viewing, and introduces a highly original, visually driven thriller to the international marketplace.
Dream Tango is set on an authentic, sun-drenched Greek island, and follows the story of 17-year-old Cyrus, who discovers that his severe chronic sleep disorder is actually a repressed connection to a parallel dream realm known as Driftside. When Cyrus is kidnapped by a powerful and mysterious scientific organization that exploits teenage dreamers as weapons, his intrepid 12-year-old sister, Iris, launches a real-world investigation to find him, uncovering a decade-long conspiracy involving missing children.
Visually, the series carves out a distinct artistic identity by merging diverse global animation traditions. The production pairs a hybrid 2D/3D digital infrastructure with artist-first automation tools to preserve traditional illustration quality.

WE WANTED TO BUILD A WORLD THAT CAPTURES THE GRITTY, SURREAL DETAIL OF AKIRA AND THE RETRO-FUTURISTIC ELEGANCE OF ULSSYES 31, WHILE GROUNDING THE ATMOSPHERE IN ORGANIC, MODERN SCI-FI WORLD-BUILDING
“While Greek mythology is incredibly popular right now, it is rarely explored through a modern lens of diaspora and identity. At its core, Dream Tango is a deeply emotional coming-of-age story wrapped inside a high-concept, reality-bending thriller about finding your place between two worlds.”
The animated series expands a broader transmedia universe that already includes an active VR game, establishing a foundation for long-term multiplatform growth.
With the pilot script, series bible, comprehensive episode outlines, and a concept trailer completed, the bilateral Swedish-Greek prodction is actively seeking global distributors, streaming platforms, broadcast partners, and remaining European co-producters at Cartoon Forum.
